Show of metaphorical hands. Or antennae, whichever you're partial to: Who here has been kidnapped for a special one-on-one date with our captors? I'd like to arrange an off-journal meeting to speak about your personal experiences if anyone happens to have some free time. It shouldn't take long, just a few minutes. I'll be hanging around the shops in town most of the day, I've got some... supplies I've been meaning to find. [Still looking for a basketball, woe and alas.] We can always head elsewhere from there, though.

I understand that it's a sensitive topic for most people, and it's all right if you'd rather not talk about it. Or if you'd rather be anonymous, just slip a note under my door detailing anything you can remember about the experience itself. Anything at all, before, during, after. Well uh, they've got advanced technology but um, I guess you could say they're exceptional mages.

Not just magic though. Stronger, faster... at least, that's how it is with me.

White Magic. [Ceodore tends to forget that not everyone has the same divisions of magic that he's familiar with.] I'm not as good with it as Mother. My mother's the best White Mage known.

It's healing, but it's also protective, or I guess you could say defensive. Black magic is more offensive.

I'm not really sure. Father does, but it's because he's a paladin. My uncle can't use it at all, but he's a powerful black mage. One of the better ones I've met.

It's rare for people to use both. I've only met one man capable of it.

Well, some. Most live in Mysidia. Our country keeps some battalions of both white and black mages in the military. Most soldiers in the upper ranks have at least a minimum education in one or the other.

[Biggs and Wedge specifically come to mind and Ceodore sighs.]
