[There's a quiet crunching sound before Mulder speaks up, sounding thoughtful.]

Show of metaphorical hands. Or antennae, whichever you're partial to: Who here has been kidnapped for a special one-on-one date with our captors? I'd like to arrange an off-journal meeting to speak about your personal experiences if anyone happens to have some free time. It shouldn't take long, just a few minutes. I'll be hanging around the shops in town most of the day, I've got some... supplies I've been meaning to find. [Still looking for a basketball, woe and alas.] We can always head elsewhere from there, though.

I understand that it's a sensitive topic for most people, and it's all right if you'd rather not talk about it. Or if you'd rather be anonymous, just slip a note under my door detailing anything you can remember about the experience itself. Anything at all, before, during, after. Your answers will be kept in confidence. I'm in Community Building 7, Floor 2, Room 10.

What sort of powers are you and your Lunarian people capable of?

[Just think if he got the roadmap to where the Lunarians came from in the solar system...]

Well uh, they've got advanced technology but um, I guess you could say they're exceptional mages.

[Or that's Ceodore's guess from what he's been told in Family History Lite.]

Not just magic though. Stronger, faster... at least, that's how it is with me.

Highly advanced echnology and magic? [God he wants to vacation there or something, pick up all the evidence he can and shove it in the faces of every skeptic back home.]

So you're a sorcerer of some kind and a physical fighter? What kind of magic do you have?

White Magic. [Ceodore tends to forget that not everyone has the same divisions of magic that he's familiar with.] I'm not as good with it as Mother. My mother's the best White Mage known.

And by White Magic you mean... Helpful, good magic? Healing magic?

[Taking some wild guesses that aren't too wild, based on the things he knows himself about magic in general. He's done a lot of research over the years.]

Oh right, you probably don't know much about that.

It's healing, but it's also protective, or I guess you could say defensive. Black magic is more offensive.

People must be pretty glad to have you around on those drafts I've heard about...

Do Lunarians usually have White Magic?

I guess... [Talking to the wrong kid about skills appreciation. Ceodore's too firmly entrenched in feeling inferior to realize how useful those skills can be.]

I'm not really sure. Father does, but it's because he's a paladin. My uncle can't use it at all, but he's a powerful black mage. One of the better ones I've met.

It's rare for people to use both. I've only met one man capable of it.

Oh? The man who uses both, what's he like, are both types or magic very powerful?

[Kid, you're getting all of his interest with everything you're saying.]

He was funny but kind, wise. Very talented too, although he was older and could only cast so much at a time.

[And he can ramble with his lack of filter forever. :D]

[Don't worry, Mulder will realize it when he gets over the excitement about OMG MOON PEOPLE WITH MAGIC POWERS! When he gets carried away his cautiou disappears completely.]

He sounds like an interesting person to know. Are there a lot of mages, in the world you're from?

Well, some. Most live in Mysidia. Our country keeps some battalions of both white and black mages in the military. Most soldiers in the upper ranks have at least a minimum education in one or the other.

[Biggs and Wedge specifically come to mind and Ceodore sighs.]

It's not common though.

Warrior mages, huh? [His world sounds SO COOL. They have magic and aliens all over the place. Sign him up for a vacation there.] What's the offensive magic like?

[Well, the moonfolk are in short supply and almost no one knows about it anyway.]

Um, well there's elemental like fire or blizzard, and then status effects like poison or toad. Rydia can probably explain it better than me.

[Most information on Black Magic goes right over the derp's head.]

Oh, Rydia! [Familiarity and a pleased tone.] She was very helpful at the Welcome Center, and she did provide some interesting details, now that you mention it. She told me about Toad.

It's very overrated.
