[Fox is still out and about investigating, putting all of his nifty equipment to good use as he's dealing with the recent appearance of the monsters. When he finally takes a break, it's to catch up with things in general as well as family.]

This might sound like a weird idea, but has anyone managed to capture or otherwise contain one of those beasts? Whatever they are, they could potentially be worth studying. I know I'd find the added information valuable for the S-Files. [The "S" standing for shift, of course- this stuff has always interested him a great deal.]

Beasts and the strangely vivid dreams... I wonder if these things are connected, and if so, how? I mean, it can't be a coincidence they're appearing at the same time, right? The dreams themselves are still troubling. Last night's felt like it was really happening.

Yeah, that was why I had a feeling I'd get a lot of "what the hell are you thinking?" answers, or at least a lot of "no." Have you noticed anything unusual about any you might have encountered?

Hm, I wonder if they're even connected at all to the dreams, in that case... It would mean we're experiencing two shifts simultaneously if they're not, which seems unlikely.

When the shift ends, you don't think they'll disappear.

Right now, I'd say it's only a theory, but it's at least possible that it could happen. I can't put my finger on it, but something is bothering me about them... Like they're here for a specific purpose, almost?

I don't think we can assume that so easily. We need some form of proof.

...You sound exactly like this woman in my dreams. My subconscious must be trying to tell me to stop jumping to conclusions.

Still, you can't deny that something is odd about them. Watch how they behave, almost like they're not... entirely that interested in us. Unless we're in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I just... think it's important to be sure. So that you'll be open to all the possibilities.

Oh, I have nothing against being open. Maybe this just means we need to collect more information...

And now that I'm thinking about it, do you mind discussing the dreams for a moment? I'm curious about other people's general experiences. I'd particularly like to know if you're noticing unusual details about any people in the dreams.

They're just dreams. [She tells herself that a billion times, because hers include the end of her world - twice. Dying at her best friend's hands. Almost killing that best friend instead, under the influence of dark energy and a very twisted man.]

Maybe... but you have to admit, it's a pretty huge coincidence for so many people to experience so many vivid dreams all at once. I think it's significant.

It's a rare phenomena. But we can't make assumptions about its cause, either.

[It's weird how it feels natural to have discussions with someone like this... but then he has to stop himself and remember that those discussions tool place in dreams.]

Ok, so without assuming anything... what do you think could be a probable cause for such a widespread phenomenon? Doesn't it seem like a greater leap of logic to write it off as a coincidence?

It might be too much to be a coincidence. So, if you could rule out a shift... Something else is causing the effect. Some sort of contaminant.

A contaminant? I wonder what its source is, if that's the case... it could very well be related somehow to the monsters too. I feel like everything could be connected somehow, it's just a matter of putting the pieces together...

From the various effects, we are certainly in a Shift. I think it might be better to wait for that to end, and see what remains.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if there's more to come. It's a pretty complicated shift compared to most others...
