[Voice/Action]

[There's a squelching sound of someone falling into a very muddy area. Then that someone curses under his breath, followed by the distinct sound of some very angry toads who he's disturbed. Many of whom also curse along with the general annoyed croaking.]

Hello? Who's there? Who said that? Scully, are you with me? Can you hear me? SCULLY!?!

[There's a pause, and more muddy squelching. And more grumpy voices in the background as Mulder appears to have fallen into a whole clan of toads. He seems to take this in stride though, thinking aloud as he tries to gain his bearings. He picks up the book that's near him and eyes it curiously. It's very out of place here, but he's already drawing his own conclusions.]

Let me guess. I've finally been abducted by aliens. I knew it was a matter of time, but somehow I always assumed the experience would involve less falling face down in the mud, and more probing.

Not that I want any probing, I'll pass on that opportunity.

So now the question is- aside from where the hell are my real clothes- where am I? My theories include afterlife or parallel dimension, maybe a mix of the two with a dash of government-initiated kidnapping thrown in. It's not every day you wake up in someone else's clothes with wings sprouting out of your back for no reason. Wings that hurt like a bitch when I pull on the feathers, I might add.

[Yeah he already tried that. Is it really any surprise he's already tried that?]

So what's going on here? Who's responsible for this? Was I subjected to an experiment of some kind? Kept imprisoned as a test subject and cast off to the wilderness as soon as they were done with me? Is this Russia? It better not be Russia. I didn't have such great accommodations the last time I went there.

[...and is it just him or are ALL of the toads in the area looking ready to gang up on him? He's deciding he's overstaying his welcome here. Time to get moving. In some direction. So Mulder can be found hurrying the rest of the way through the woods and into town. He's covered in mud and followed close behind by a whole bunch of very disgruntled toads.]

[She nods at him. Happy to oblige and do all that record straightening too yep.]

I can tell you anything you want to know.

[After she finishes her current project.]

Ok, then... [He peers at her curiously.] What kind of things do you build with those tools?

[identity profile] trueraretalent.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh he'll regret asking that. Rather than getting a list of them, Tink lights up and starts drawing things, including really complex schematics. Some are the basics a nature talent fairy needs like rainbow tubes or acorn buckets full of paint, wagons and basket, pots and kettles. But others are really complicated, like the fly-by seed grabber that's part glove, part harmonica and the pixie dust collector. One page she spends a lot of time on, replicating her design for the fall sceptre. When done, she holds it out to show off, beaming with pride.]

[Mulder watches with fascination, partly at how quickly and animatedly she's going about showing all of that... and partly on seeing firsthand what she's capable of.]

You do all of that? [Now he takes a moment to examine all of that further. He points to that sceptre, since she'd seemed to especially work on that design.] What does that do?

[identity profile] trueraretalent.livejournal.com 2011-03-12 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Sure I do!

[Tink's prone to chatterboxing and she rambles on very animated while she tries to draw out her explanation.]

This makes blue pixie dust. See, the Harvest Moon comes up and when it's up, it touches the moonstone and makes the dust that replenishes the pixie dust tree for the year. Oh, that's the stuff that lets us fly.

[That last explanation sets her back up in the air, flitting around and giggling.]

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-03-12 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Pixie dust, huh? That's pretty cool. [He watches her, totally thrilled at meeting a real fairy like this. Scully would NEVER believe this, ever. The thought makes him wish she were around though.]

Could anyone fly if they had enough of it?

[...He can't help but wonder and theorize.]

[identity profile] trueraretalent.livejournal.com 2011-03-13 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well sure! You want to try it?

[Unfortunately Tink tends to forget when people can't understand her, but she's nodding anyway. And being the impulsive little thing she is, before he even agrees she goes racing around him in a glowing golden dust. Hovering right in front of him she gestures for the guy to lift his arms and then pokes the corners of his mouth up into a smile.]

Happy thoughts.

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-03-13 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
...So I lift my arms up and smile? [Mulder does this a moment, totally not caring how nuts this probably would look to an observer.]

[identity profile] trueraretalent.livejournal.com 2011-03-13 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Tink nods eagerly. She can't conceive of anyone smiling without happy thoughts to back it up. Such is the life of someone born from laughter.]

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-03-15 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
[He keeps trying, and trying... all the smiling does have the effect of putting him in a good mindset, somehow, and his mood and thoughts lighten to accompany that... slowwwwly his feet start lifting a little off the ground.]
