[Mulder has noticed the horrifying thing about the latest wave of newcomers, and it's really starting to get to him. There's got to be some kind of twisted Malnosso logic at work, right? And a reason why all these wingless people are still alive and well?]

What happened to all of these New Feather's wings?

[And with that, Agent Mulder is heading out ALL OVER THE PLACE to investigate and check out what kinds of newcomers they're bringing in. Maybe he'll find some kind of pattern, a method to their madness... OR NOT.]

So you're saying all these people are dead. [He says it seriously, as though he's perfectly prepared to accept it as true.]

[Oh, good, well, at least he can avoid the weird looks about these kinds of theories.]

It's among the possibilities I've been considering. There are plenty of ways in which people could be reanimated after death, after all.

That's true. They could be zombies. [Still serious, and even excited about the possibility.]

[And Mulder gives it just as serious consideration, running through all the things he knows about them.]

Most zombie-types would have more obvious signs of dessication- rotting flesh, sunken eyes, putrefying wounds and so on. Although it's not always true that they crave human brains... a voodoo-created zombie wouldn't be out for flesh, for instance. These people seem more self-aware than the average zombie... but who knows what the Malnosso might be capable of. We could be looking at a completely new variety.

[Wow. Usually when Disher floats a theory, his captain and his colleagues immediately tell him it's crazy. You're a cool guy.]

Would you consider yourself an expert on zombies? And - who are the Malnosso?

I'm probably not as versed in them as your average voodoo high priest, but I like to think I know a thing or two about them. It's part of my job to know about zombies.

[Yup. This is standard normal stuff for him.]

As for the Malnosso, well that's something else entirely. They're scientists who use us in a series of tests, things that alter our bodies, minds, the environment... They're responsible for these wingless people somehow.

I'm an FBI Agent.

[Yes, ok, that probably makes no sense considering he's rambling about zombies.]

I investigate the unexplainable cases, the ones that defy science as we know it on Earth... the ones that have a paranormal explanation. So it's... not just zombies I've dealt with.

[He just nods.] SFPD. Homicide. [He gestures with his notepad to the zombies.] Not sure whether this is quite my jurisdiction, but I thought I'd investigate.

So, ah... what part of the FBI is that?

[Mulder has been just "it's supernatural so it's in my jurisdiction" about all of Luceti. He sees no problem in stretching things.]

It's called the X-Files. All of the cases no one knows how to classify were marked under "X", which kind of stuck from there. [A bit of a mischievous look...] I'm not exactly the Bureau's most popular.

Weird stuff. I get it. [He smiles and sticks out his hand, sensing a potential kindred spirit.] Randy Disher. Lieutenant.

Special Agent Fox Mulder. [Reaches out for the handshake.] I'm impressed, it's not everyday I meet anyone else from my world's law enforcement who's as open-minded as I am.

Well, yes, I assume you're from Earth or a version of it? Here on Luceti most people come from completely different dimensions. They're not just extraterrestrial, they're from other universes entirely.

[Stunned for a moment, then:] That's amazing! Wait 'til the Captain hears about this!

I only hope we can get word of this back home. This place is undeniable evidence that the paranormal exists.
