[Things have settled down. Between experiments, amusement parks, abductions and drafts, this is the first nice calm stretch of time he's had in a while. So Mulder's hanging out in the Battle Dome. He's been coming there a lot more lately. The new features interest him, and there are places from home he can't help revisiting. Not always to fight, since it's no longer required, though he throws those scenarios in sometimes too. But mostly he's in there obsessively going back through particular scenes.]

[At the moment, Mulder can be seen sitting in the living room where Samantha disappeared from. The board game Stratego is still set up in place near him, the game left unfinished. It's exactly as the room looked all those years ago. A blinding bright light flashes somewhere in the background.]

I wonder what determines the point in time we're taken from? It appears entirely random from all that I've encountered so far. Almost like someone's throwing darts at a timeline or choosing those times out of a hat. A really ugly hat. I also wonder... why some people are brought here after death. [Jonathan. Gem. ...Sigh.] It doesn't seem fair, to grant someone a new life only to throw them back eventually anyway.

...speaking of that, I've been curious about something for a while. [And needing to expand his files, he's already delved into kidnappings, revival has always been somewhere on his list too.] If anyone who's died before, either here or at home, wouldn't mind indulging me for a couple of questions? I won't ask how it happened or anything, just... some related details on the topic. Thanks in advance.

I don't usually use grenades... [But it's obvious in the way he thinks about it that he would consider it, if the situation called for it.] Most of the time, I'm trying to operate in a stealthy manner, so that means no flashy... anything, really. Just good old lock picking.

[...So he's an officer of the law and he knows his way around a lock to pick it! >.> He always has good reason.]

Normally I don't get to do any combination breaking or anything like that. Closest I ever got was getting the code to that one talking safe guy.

So I'm usually blowing stuff up! Or hitting buttons, either works. [She grins a little.] Still, that sounds pretty cool! I bet that must be fun, going to all kinds of awesome places...

[Morality? What morality?]

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-14 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
It can be, at times. It's not everyday you get to raid the restricted areas of top secret facilities. Uncovering the truth is that important, that a little breaking and entering is worth it... I've seen a lot of unusual things that way. Alien things.

[It's always worth breaking the rules to get at something more important.]

[This is something Kazooie totally agrees with.]

Aliens, huh? I met a couple of those! [... And watched a few of them die. And get revived again. Mumbo's magic sure was helpful there...] They were gray and had big eyes and laser guns and a flying UFO thing that ran on Ice Eggs.

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-17 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! So you've met some Grays? They exist in your world too?

[This is very, very fascinating, and his enthusiasm is pretty evident.]

Where I'm from, they're the species of alien that's by far one of the most commonly sighted. What else did they do on your world? Did they ever abduct anyone?

I dunno what kind of alien they were. They all had names, though. Alph, Beti and Gammo - and their kids, Alphette, Betette, and Gamette. Dumb names if you ask me...

[She thinks for awhile.] Well, they got stuck on the Isle O' Hags somehow, underwater in Jolly Roger's Lagoon. We fixed their UFO thing, and then they went off to find the kids in Hailfire Peaks... but Alph ended up falling out of the UFO or something and died. Pah. Mumbo had to fix him up with his magic.

Then Alph made Banjo and me find all his kids. They were in really weird places under the ice... but we found 'em all.

... Except, uh, one... kinda died. [Awkward pause.] Mumbo had to save that kid too. But eventually we got 'em all back okay, and we got a Jiggy!

... And then Alph said they were gonna exterminate us Earthlings. But Alph forgot where he put his laser, so he never bothered.

[Yep. She recites this all more-or-less deadpan.]

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Then Alph wasn't entirely on your side, from the sound of it... [And Mulder accepts all of it easily, without any hint of surprise or being weirded out.]

So they were under the ice? Were you in Antarctica? [Well, that's where he's come across a huge spaceship and a whole bunch of aliens, anyway.]
talontrot: (are you crazy?! wait. yes. it's you.)

[personal profile] talontrot 2011-10-20 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
The kids were. I'm not sure why, I guess they liked it... but it was cold so I dunno why they'd be there!

... Then again, the Ice Side of Hailfire Peaks is pretty much cold everywhere.

[Kazooie blinks at the name "Antarctica". What the heck is that?] Never heard of that place... it's just on the Isle O' Hags.

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Never heard of it. Then again, maybe I shouldn't be so surprised that I haven't... Some of the aliens I recently came across in my world were on an icy land, too.

[Who knows, there could be something to those similarities.]

[personal profile] talontrot 2011-10-23 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Of course, it's too bad that Mulder has never heard of Kazooie's series, or many of his questions would be answered.]

Most people haven't, so you aren't the first.

Maybe aliens got a thing for cold places? I dunno...

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-25 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
It's possible there's some resemblance there to their natural environment... there's so much that we still don't know about them. Or at least, so much that's been WITHHELD about them from my people, back home.

[Since there are people much like the Malnosso who do experiments all the time, back home... and keep that knowledge to themselves.]
talontrot: (are you crazy?! wait. yes. it's you.)

[personal profile] talontrot 2011-10-25 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[The Malnosso keep it to themselves too, as much as they can. Which is the unfortunate part for everybody in Luceti.

Kazooie, however, doesn't really care. She just wants it to stop.]

Keeping all the stuff to themselves 'cause they don't want anybody else to have it? [Selfishness. That's an understandable motive.]

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-29 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... mostly because they want power, or that seems to be the motive usually. It's the same as how the Malnosso keep things here.
talontrot: (i remember better days on the n64)

[personal profile] talontrot 2011-10-31 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes people take stuff just to have it! Like, I doubted Grunty needed everybody's life force - though she was fat so maybe she wanted lots of it - but she was probably just gonna take it from everybody anyway 'cause she's mean like that.

[Not the most sage dispersal of advice, but it is fairly accurate.]

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-11-04 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's how it is, sometimes... people -or other sentient beings- often do things just for the same of cruelty.
talontrot: (are you crazy?! wait. yes. it's you.)

[personal profile] talontrot 2011-11-06 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
[This is starting to get depressing. And kind of boring.]

Anyway, did that help you out with your questioning-type stuff? [Because it's weird giving people help, but hey, it was fun to talk about all the cool stuff she did!]

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-11-08 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
It helped a great deal, actually. I appreciate all of your information.

Good!

I'll, uh, let you get to whatever you're doing with it, then.

See ya around! [She will harass you again sometime, Mulder.]
