[Things have settled down. Between experiments, amusement parks, abductions and drafts, this is the first nice calm stretch of time he's had in a while. So Mulder's hanging out in the Battle Dome. I wonder what determines the point in time we're taken from? It appears entirely random from all that I've encountered so far. Almost like someone's throwing darts at a timeline or choosing those times out of a hat. A really ugly hat. I also wonder... why some people are brought here after death. [Jonathan. Gem. ...Sigh.] It doesn't seem fair, to grant someone a new life only to throw them back eventually anyway.

...speaking of that, I've been curious about something for a while. [And needing to expand his files, he's already delved into kidnappings, revival has always been somewhere on his list too.] If anyone who's died before, either here or at home, wouldn't mind indulging me for a couple of questions? Those memories were important. Some of the events that ended our past life began to repeat. If we had remembered clearly, from the start, it might have been totally avoided.

That old saying about the past repeating itself never seemed so appropriate. So you started to remember some things gradually? Was there anything that in particular that brought those memories back?

Mm. Our enemies were revived. We had to be ready for that.

Do you understand what you're asking? To do that, the sort of power you would need would be dangerous.

But theoretically, if the situation here started getting more grim than usual... would it be worth the risk then? I'm thinking worst case scenario.

It would depend on the chances of success. They wouldn't have to be 100, but it's better to brave worse consequences for more certain reward.

I have to agree on that reasoning... and I guess we won't know that answer for sure unless we find ourselves in that kind of a scenario.

That's right; let's not get ahead of ourselves. We'll focus on the immediate issues first.

It's not like we can ever run out of those, anyway.

I wonder if that's one of the true reasons for the experiments. A way to keep us in situations where we can't put all our energy into escape.

I wouldn't put it past them to use a tactic like that.

It only makes sense. Sow confusion so that your opponent can't come together to defeat you.

It's a proven strategy. We'll have to find ways to work around it.

Do you have a suggestion in mind already?

Not yet- that kind of thing is still a work in progress. [It always seems to get harder to work out, the more time goes by... but he's determined.]

It's still worth developing.
