[Mulder is lying half-conscious on the ground somewhere in the general vicinity of the Battle Dome. The skin around his eyes, nose, and mouth is all red and inflamed, and whole sections of feathers have fallen out of his wings. He's got just enough of a mind to recognize that he's felt like this before. Alien blood. He's been exposed somehow, and he's suffering the aftereffects. The how and where he is now might take a bit to catch up with him though.]

[After a moment, a weak voice can be heard on the journals:]

...ice... need... need cold.

[Why can't the return to the village be painless and hassle-free? Or just... returning with a funny haircut or something.]

[If the Malnosso are ever thoughtful...it's generally a trap. Of course, by the look of Mulder, he was returned in a bad enough state to render a trap unnescesary.]

We did get an explanation for the recent excitement of a couple of weeks ago.

Oh, wonderful. [Why are his random flippant guesses always the ones that end up being the most right?] ...so... this one wasn't intended. What exactly went wrong and how did they fix it?

They were trying to, um, upgrade the place. Molly ran the wrong process, or something to that effect. The two of them did eventually manage to sort it out, and implemented quite a few changes that...well, even I'm interested in.

[Mulder is at least finding this an interesting distraction from things. Though he's also trying to keep the abduction experience fresh in mind so he can record the details later.]

You mean someone could revisit a location from the past if they wanted? Or other worlds? Just to explore?
