[Action/Voice]
[Mulder is lying half-conscious on the ground somewhere in the general vicinity of the Battle Dome. The skin around his eyes, nose, and mouth is all red and inflamed, and whole sections of feathers have fallen out of his wings. He's got just enough of a mind to recognize that he's felt like this before. Alien blood. He's been exposed somehow, and he's suffering the aftereffects. The how and where he is now might take a bit to catch up with him though.]
[After a moment, a weak voice can be heard on the journals:]
...ice... need... need cold.
[Why can't the return to the village be painless and hassle-free? Or just... returning with a funny haircut or something.]

[Action]
[Mulder has regained some strength being here out of enemy clutches, but he's definitely slow-going as he gets out of the icky clothes.]
[Action]
Without his clothes on, it's a lot easier to see where Mulder's rashes extend. Luckily for him, the dousing with ice seems to have helped reduce the spread of the illness, but Robert's not taking any chances.]
As soon as we finish cleaning you up, I shall find a suitable antiviral, or perhaps contact a doctor who has one - but, I... learned something about antivirals from helping Ingrid.
[Minor sad tone, there, but he shakes it off in favour of dealing with this.]
[Action]
[Wait. Sad tone. Why is there a sad tone? Mulder even notices that, even in this current condition.]
Yeah, that should help. Or we could just ask her? ...Couldn't we?
[Even as he asks it he's getting a bad gut feeling.]
[Action]
Robert winces at the direct question. There's no nice way to say this...]
... N-No. She... she was sent home.
[He can't hide the waver in his voice, how it still hurts even now, but he can push it aside in favour of helping wipe off the remaining patches of strange liquid.]
[Action]
...Well... I'm really sorry to hear that. She was- is- a fascinating person. I hope things will be ok for her back home. Good for her getting out of their clutches...
[But that doesn't ever make it hurt less does it? They're safe back home, but they're no longer with them.]
[Action]
I... I hope so too...
... But, but I miss her. [Vivi, too. He'll miss both of them for as long as he's here.]
... A-At any rate. Is it... possible for you to redress on your own, or... shall I assist here as well? [Still logical and completely platonic and not awkward at all - okay, the situation is likely a bit awkward...]
[Action]
I got it...
[Very awkward. Which is why Mulder is focusing on the things he's asking about, the information. He's used to very awkward things happening by now in his line of work at least? But he's a lot better off without the icky alien substance all over him, so he starts slowly getting clothes on.]
So what else did I miss while I was off on my excursion?
[Action]
While he talks, he begins searching the shelves for a suitable antiviral.]
Ingrid was... not the only person sent home, either. Don's brother, Mike, was also sent home...
... I moved into the Hamatos' residence yesterday. To... to protect myself. I am... less of a liability that way. [His voice is a mixture of terse and almost sad.]
[Action]
[That losing a sibling thing is something Mulder can sympathize with, bigtime. He settles back now, trying to get more comfortable.]
Protect yourself from the experiments and the droids, I'm assuming?
[Action]
... There are... certain dangerous individuals here... who, er, would pose an issue otherwise.
[There's a slight shake in his voice.]
[Action]
Who are these individuals? I'm not about to start a hunt for them or anything, I just... want to be prepared.
[Action]
[He exhales slowly.] They are... on poor terms with Don's family, to say the least...
... Please do not... endanger yourself for my sake, though.
[Action]
[And he does actually mean it at the moment. Now if he's ever given reason, a motive to seek revenge... then all bets are very much off. He can chill out for now though.]
[Action]
If anything awful happens, Mulder can help!]... I understand... I just do not wish to c-cause problems. Er... more than I have already caused, that is...
... The antiviral compound is here, by the way. Though I am not certain if I am... qualified to administer it - I am not a certified physician.
[Action]
Someone around here could, I'm sure... Or you could just give it a go, I wouldn't tell.
[Ah, rules and protocol. Those don't ALWAYS have to followed to the letter.]
[Action]
He steels himself: this is an emergency, and if there are no other doctors around, it's best to do this first.
He picks up a sterilizing agent, likely rubbing alcohol, and goes to prepare Mulder's forearm. Mulder might realize just how practised the motion is, like this is something Robert did a million times before despite his words...]
... I hope nothing goes wrong... but waiting might be an even larger risk...
[Action]
That's why you can't go by the book all the time. It'll be ok, Robert. You seem to have done this before, at least?
[He's assuming in the course of his scientific work.]
[Action]
[He doesn't elaborate right now, but the way he says it probably suggests it isn't a good thing.
For now, he focuses on Mulder's arm, looking for the best vein to use before pulling the needle out of the protective casing and filling it.]
... Alright. ... I hope there are... no complications...
[Action]
[At least Mulder won't push the matter, but he does notice the way Robert reacts. He's always been good at reading people, after all...]
I doubt anything will go wrong. I trust you, Robert.
[Action]
With that, Robert gently, carefully, slides the needle home into Mulder's arm, and depresses the plunger. With any luck, he won't cause any damage...
He withdraws the needle as soon as he's finished, immediately stemming any blood flow with a sterile pad.]
... Now we... wait, I suppose.
[Action]
Yeah, give it time... I'll be ok.
...Thank you.
[Action]
[There's some slight awkwardness still, but...] ... You are welcome... I am only glad I could have helped.
[Action]
[He wouldn't want to keep him from anything important.]
[Action]
[He puts a reassuring hand on Mulder's shoulder once, gently.]
[Action]
I appreciate this...
