[There's a quiet crunching sound before Mulder speaks up, sounding thoughtful.]

Show of metaphorical hands. Or antennae, whichever you're partial to: Who here has been kidnapped for a special one-on-one date with our captors? I'd like to arrange an off-journal meeting to speak about your personal experiences if anyone happens to have some free time. It shouldn't take long, just a few minutes. I'll be hanging around the shops in town most of the day, I've got some... supplies I've been meaning to find. [Still looking for a basketball, woe and alas.] We can always head elsewhere from there, though.

I understand that it's a sensitive topic for most people, and it's all right if you'd rather not talk about it. Or if you'd rather be anonymous, just slip a note under my door detailing anything you can remember about the experience itself. Anything at all, before, during, after. Your answers will be kept in confidence. I'm in Community Building 7, Floor 2, Room 10.

You seem well versed or knowledgeable with these types of situations, what was your profession before coming here if I may ask?

I'm an FBI Agent, a type of law enforcement. My expertise is investigating crimes with a distinct... supernatural aspect to them. This kind of situation? Well, I'm usually on the other side of things, solving mysterious abductions...

[Or trying to solve at any rate.]

That's quite impressive, Mister Mulder. I wonder if the Malnosso would allow you on their side if they knew of your abilities.

You mean go undercover and work within their ranks? I would be willing to try, if it meant I could help the village...

[He and Gem have spoken quite a few times about these sorts of plans. He's all for trying if he gets the chance. He has worked undercover cases before.]

I would be interested in trying such a thing as well, but I do not think I am able to perform such tasks.

If you could act, or lie well, chances are you could do it. Though it's not for the faint of heart, especially when you have to do things to gain their trust.

[Getting one's fingers broken, running in to bank robberies wearing monster masks... yeah undercover is, uh. Fun times. :|]

Well let's simply say that the former more than the latter is something I'm use to doing.

Then maybe you'd be able to handle it. It's not an easy thing to do, but sometimes it really can make a difference against certain enemies.

I'm aware of what it is you are stating, Mister Mulder. Such as with everything, there is consequence with failure and assurance of making a difference with success.

There is. I like to think we have enough of us in here, who could work together to achieve something. Maybe even get a way out, someday...

But there are those of us whom may not wish to work together, to only find amusement within the chaos they produce.

I've encountered one, someone by the name of Vanitas. Prior to him though, we had a few evils but most of them left. Even one from my world came here before leaving.

All of the coming and going makes it hard to keep track of things... sounds like we all have to keep our guard up, especially around New Feather time.

Yes, I do agree with upon that matter. Especially if a very power evil is brought to the village, who knows what could happen.

Knowing that there are infinite worlds they could draw from... I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. It could be only a matter of time.

Sitting and waiting for something is what I've found to be as frustrating as seeing the attack done itself.

I have to agree to that, the not being able to do much about a situation can be the worst.

Does it bother you deeply when you see something that you can do nothing about?

I do my damndest to find some way to fix what I couldn't prevent.

There are some things in this world one must simply have to deal with even if we chose our paths poorly, trying to fix or mend is not always the solution.

What other solutions could there be?

Simply trying to move on.
