[There's a quiet crunching sound before Mulder speaks up, sounding thoughtful.]

Show of metaphorical hands. Or antennae, whichever you're partial to: Who here has been kidnapped for a special one-on-one date with our captors? I'd like to arrange an off-journal meeting to speak about your personal experiences if anyone happens to have some free time. It shouldn't take long, just a few minutes. I'll be hanging around the shops in town most of the day, I've got some... supplies I've been meaning to find. [Still looking for a basketball, woe and alas.] We can always head elsewhere from there, though.

I understand that it's a sensitive topic for most people, and it's all right if you'd rather not talk about it. Or if you'd rather be anonymous, just slip a note under my door detailing anything you can remember about the experience itself. Anything at all, before, during, after. Your answers will be kept in confidence. I'm in Community Building 7, Floor 2, Room 10.

Maybe! [He grins quickly, slightly nervous.] If you haven't gone yet, it's best to just count your blessings. If you're lucky, it will take a long time before you end up with them.

[Tsuzuki rubs the back of his neck, growing self-conscious rather than nervous. Mulder looks like a decent person, at least. Maybe he's overreacting.] I have been taken before.

[Mulder understands entirely, it's why he offered different options for this. He takes a few moments to adjust the filter.]

I'd like to hear about that experience, if you're willing.

We'd likely have a better chance of avoiding unwanted ears hearing this, if we take this somewhere off the journals... but I understand if you're more comfortable talking on here instead.

[Tsuzuki hesitates. He's only told his partner about what happened, and they'd never spoken about it again.]

Sure. Do you know the way to the lake? It's very peaceful. [And it's not easy to overhear us there, he almost adds.]

That's a good place to be alone. [It's where he's been trying to work on his Nala-connecting.] I can make it out there pretty soon, if you're up for that.

Give me a few minutes. I'll come right down.

[With that said, he disappears from the video feed.]

Great, thanks.

[Mulder will head off, as well, going at a pretty quick pace to get there.]

[Tsuzuki is easy to notice in a place like Luceti. He's one of the few that wears his trench coat even if it's warm.]

[It doesn't take long before he arrives at the lake, carrying a plastic bag with what appears to be bread.]

Hey. Have you waited long?

[The trench coat definitely catches his attention.]

Not too long. It's nice out here anyway, so at least I got to enjoy the scenery.

...Right, and we didn't make any introductions yet. I'm Fox Mulder.

[Automatically, Tsuzuki takes his hand. Mulder might actually be the first one he meets that wears a proper suit. It makes him trust him, just a bit.]

It's nice to meet you, Fox. I'm Tsuzuki Asato.

[He opens the plastic bag, looking somewhat sheepish.]

Would you like to feed the ducks with me?

[He shakes his hand.]

It's good to meet you, too, Tsuzuki. Oh, and just call me Mulder, if you don't mind. [He glances at the bag.] Looks like you brought plenty to share, so why not?

All right, Mulder.

[The bread is broken, and half is offered. At least it will give them something to do with their hands while they talk.]

So why are you curious about the kidnappings?

[Mulder takes the bread offered to him with a thanks, and then looks to find the nearest group of ducks. He begins breaking little pieces off to feed them.]

Because I've seen far too much of the same thing back home... and we're helpless here, with no way to stop it from happening. I keep hoping that knowing more about them will help us uncover something, a detail that could help us end them once and for all.

[That catches his attention. He breaks off bread crumbles and throws them at the lake.]

Do you think the Malnosso are behind the disappearances in your world also?

[Mulder tosses some out and watches the ducks scrambling to eat.]

The kidnappings bear a striking resemblance to alien abductions on my world, although I can't confirm that they're directly related.
