[Now he's had more time to practice filters, he's trying one out. He's sure this matter has been brought up before at some point in time anyhow, so it's not like it's too sensitive. But he has to ask, since it seems like people never discuss it. At the moment, Mulder can be seen holding a small handheld mirror and tapping it absentmindedly into the palm of his other hand. He has a thoughtful expression on his face.]

...I bet it's been tried before, but... Has anyone ever had the barcode on the back of their neck examined? Is there a doctor in the house, or anyone with a medical background who's ever tried removing it from someone? ....Or maybe just someone in possession of a state of the art grocery store scanner to check it out? [What, YOU NEVER KNOW.] For that matter, can we be entirely sure they haven't implanted anything additional in us?

Aside from that, I'm almost starting to feel a sense of routine and normality, between my ongoing quest to commune with the spirits and now working on what's essentially becoming the Lucetian X-Files. I have some faint hope that documenting the experiments will give me a better understanding of this place. Although I would kill for a computer to type them out on. Uh... not literally kill, for the record.

A flood of newcomers means I get to officially upgrade my New Feather badge to the next level... [Warning! Warning! Incoming snark mode!] Welcome to paradise, everyone. The food is free, but the TV reception is terrible, the recreational activities consist of reality-altering experiments which will make you wish you were on reality-altering drugs, and the vacation staff running the place have a mysterious fetish for wings. Overall I give this resort a half star. You really should have gone to Disneyworld instead.

Then I suppose my boyhood dream of owning my own phaser will go unfulfilled? And if I want anything that's actually useful, I'll need to think carefully about what I wish for...

How disappointing. I'll have to come up with something bigger and better when the time comes, then...

I suppose it makes sense that the alien-chasing FBI agent is also a sci-fi geek.

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Guilty as charged. I've spent many a late night watching sci-fi marathons. [Among... other 'entertainment'.] I figure I may as well take advantage of the 'ask for anything' console and try a few things out.

[ a pause. ] Have you met Doctor McCoy yet, Mulder?

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
I've just spoken to him... though admittedly, I'm trying not to creep him out too much from the get-go. I wonder if he'd let me touch his tricorder someday...

I'm assuming anyway, that most people probably don't take too well to being told they come from a TV series?

[It even bended Mulder's mind a bit to think that in some other universes, people see HIM that way. But his mind is made for bendy-ness.]
herotypical: (} and in her glove compartment)

[personal profile] herotypical 2011-05-16 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
They don't take it well at all. Bones, especially.

[ a deep breath, then: ] Which? Don't call him that. Only some people get to call him that. [ and clearly she is one of them. ]

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Noted and noted. You must know him pretty well to have that privilege...

I somehow had a feeling most people wouldn't like to hear they're fictional somewhere else. Even if it can be explained away by the possibility of different universes and dimensions... We could all be someone else's TV show, you just have to hope it's at least a show with a good run. And that your 'character' doesn't get killed off. [Which now makes him almost want to ask around to find out what happens to him, if others do see him as a show or movie.]
herotypical: [ neutral ; snark ; angry ] (} give me half as much)

[personal profile] herotypical 2011-05-17 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
I've lived with him for over a year, now. We're practically family.

[ hmm. ] So if someone told you that you were fictional, you wouldn't freak? I'd freak.

[ she did freak. ]

[identity profile] ufo-fanboy.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
Ok, maybe an initial freakout with the appropriate existential dread, but all in all, yeah, I'd be fine with it after that. I'd be curious to know, mostly, how closely the fictional version of events resembles real life.

HA. I almost had a feeling, the way some people have reacted... [And a few dropped definite hints, so, all in all it also softens the OMG WTF of the revelation.] It's still weird even for me to wrap my head around, but I'll go with the idea. I- know I'm real, but in other universes... anything goes.

I hope they at least show the cool parts, and not boring footage of me on the couch all the time. Do you... Does this 'show' of mine ever end?

So I guess you’d have no way of knowing if I make a bold love confession... to Assistant Director Skinner, of course. [Said jokingly, because he can’t yet admit to seriously being curious about himself and Scully together. Thanks to a bee’s perfectly horrid timing, he isn’t even sure a moment like they had will ever happen again.]

Maybe it’s better that you don’t know. Assuming that the show follows real life that accurately... I'd be demanding full details. I’d want to know if I ever find Samantha, or expose the conspiracy for what it is... and spoilers on who dies, too.

Running after vampires and other things that go bump in the night... does cut into primetime viewing.

...I'm almost certain you have a show in my world, too. It would have started maybe a year ago, my time? I think. I tend to catch mostly obscure late-night tv and sports games myself.

I'm noticing that most people don't seem to like it being brought up... I wonder now how common it is, around here?

[All fiction is really tapping into some kind of mystical dimensional gateway where everything is real?! Yeah. It's pretty out there even for Mulder but STILL, it'll give him a lot to think about.]

I don't see that it proves that any of us are not real... Ok, maybe in some dimensions or universes, but if there's an infinite number out there, you have to expect a few weird twists in some.
