Yes, we're most definitely alive. In fact, people who were once dead can still arrive here, and even dying here isn't a temporary thing...as you might have guessed from what I just said.

As for the wings, I'm not sure how they did it. Everyone who arrives here wakes up with them...though after a day, they'll stop hurting. It's just your body getting used to them.
